Wills

Upon your death, you may leave behind property interests. These property interests form your estate. Your will directs the disposition of your estate. In other words, your will provides how to divide those property interests that remain behind and who to give them to. Probate is the process of applying the rules in your will to your estate. Typically, your will appoints a personal representative (a/k/a executor) to conduct this process. The probate court oversees your personal representative’s conduct.
